We (agroup consisting of 34 people) were scheduled to board a cruise in Miami on April 20, 2007 for the following celebrations: 3 graduations, 1 wedding reception, 2 birthdays & a surprised engagement. We(20) all have confirmed reservation on flight 599 from LGA to MAI on April 20, 2008. When we got there this particular flight 599 was cancelled which caused us to miss the first day of our cruise. We flew from Laguardia Airport to Miami the next day 4/21/08 we confirmed & it was verified by an American Airline Employee in NY that the only identification that was required was Original Birth Certificates along with State Issued Identification which we all had. American Airlines advised that we will (20 people) be put on the next flight to Cozumel, Mexico to meet up with this particular cruise since 1/3 of our group was on the cruise already. When we went to register and confirm our flight to Cozumel, we were advised that we cannot go without a passport. All 20 of us proceed to the Federal Building in Downtown Miami to get expedited passports at $160 each & $17 for the pictures. American Airlines advised that we will be put on the next flight to Cozumel, Mexico (flight 4947)on 4/22/08. We all arrived passports in hands and ready to fly to Cozumel to meet the cruise. While waiting an announcement came in that the flight# 4947 to Cozumel, Mexico has been cancelled. American Airlines suggested for us to fly to Cancun (flight 2137) then ferry over to Cozumel and all our luggages where sent to the cancun flight. American Airlines realized that we will not get to Cancun on time to board the ship. AA had to take all 27 pieces of luggage off the flight to cancun. American Airlines suggested that we catch the next flight # 1011 to meet the cruise (which arrives on 4/22/08) on the next port which will be Cayman Island. More devastating things happen to but the writing is limited. If you would like to know the whole story from start to finish I have a written detail description of our horrific daily experience before we boarded the cruise on 4/24/08.
