DO NOT USE American Steammasters My wife decided since we just moved into a new home, we should have our air ducts cleaned because I suffer from asthma and we’re on the verge of parenthood. With a baby around, I definitely see the benefit to cleaning a home’s air ducts. We had received a $75 coupon from American Steammasters for duct cleaning. After the tech went through our home he added up all the additional vents and returns, he recommended additional service to be done at the house for of course, extra money. The grand total was just shy of $400. We were fine with that and this isn’t really become about the money we paid for their “services”; it’s about the quality of work and poor customer service afterwards. After returning home from work, I had inspected the “cleaning” performed by their technician and noticed several vents still have what I would call, considerable dust build up remaining. I immediately called their service center to find out if we could have the vents redone because we simply weren’t happy with the level of service. I spoke directly with the technician, Jeremy, who said he would just swing by towards the end of the week to “clean out what he had missed”. Well, needless to say, Jeremy never showed. I then got in touch with Todd Penticoff, the general manager, over the phone and he was apologetic as stated he would put me on the schedule for the following Tuesday, sometime between 4 – 6 pm to have the vents re-done. Tuesday came, I took off 2 hours of work to be sure I was home by 4 pm for the technician and of course, no one showed up and no one even bothered to call. First missed appointment I can understand, a second time I’m starting to get miffed but as a business person, I needed to contact American Steammaster once again to find out what their problem is. I spoke with a receptionist who said she’s in charge of scheduling services and that sometimes, Todd the GM, doesn’t follow through on his commitments. She’d put me on the schedule for the following week if I could be home sometime between 4 – 6pm again. I agreed and crossed my fingers someone would actually show this time. Boy was I wrong! Once again, I took off of work early to attend to this mess and once again, no technician showed, no receptionist called to say they’re running behind. Now I’m pissed. Since they’ve cashed my check and can pretty much kiss any chance they had to appease me as a customer, they’re pretty much ignoring me. Mean while their manager Todd is more concerned about his online betting and Golden Tee score to give a crap about his business. DO NOT USE THEM, YOU’LL REGRET IT. - B
