The first thing you will notice about Anthony Sylvan Pools is that they don't use their own web site. I don't think they want customers looking at the Web. Most of their ratings are done by and under the names of customers and/or clients of Anthony Sylvan. But keep searching. You will find many many complaints.I signed my Conctract on 4-02-07 and up until 6-09-08 I was told that the dark spots in the bottom of my pool were rocks from the previous pool done earlier that day and that it was a darker color. They said that the hose was not rinsed propery. That's one issue. Within 2 days of the pool being filled with water for the 1st time, the wet deck started to hold dirt. They came out to sand it but that only made it worse. When they were plastering the pool a worker was playing with a handful of plaster and just threw it in last and tried to smooth it out. The pool has now been partially drained 2x and fully drained 2x to try and fix the wet deck and the dark spots in the bottom. Keep in mind that in the very beginning Anthony Sylvan sent out Gator Pools to do the "Start up" on my pool. They were working for Anthony Sylvan at that time and paid by Anthony Sylvan at that time. I asked them if they knew anyone that cleaned pools on a weekly basis. They said that they did and I fine, if they are good enough for Anthony Sylvan...they are good enough for me. Keeping in mind that I am contacting Anthony Sylvan on a semi weekly basis at a minimum about the wet deck and now about the spots. I have a stack of notes about 4inches tall. Finally I feel like some resolution is going to happen. They drain my pool. Anthony Sylvan has Peak Plastering come and repair the surface - or so I thought. They sanded the walls they used a screw driver and hammer to dig out the pieces of black that were embedded into the bottom of the pool and then sanded those spots and then moved onto the 4 foot crack and sanded it and put more plaster in it and sanded it again. Today I received an email from their Corporate office that states they didn't see a 4 foot crack they thought it was 4 inches. They knew ... they worked on it. Peak Plastering worked on it. Now they fill the pool with plain water, right out of the garden hose. No chemicals, no additives. Just regular tap water going into an empty pool. Now, it needs to have another "start up", with all new chemical as right now the water is just plain faucet water. They hire J & J Pools to do the start up. ( They tell me that they no loinger use Gator Pools .. I said fine.. I'll use who you use) Jolene comes to my house everyday for a week working on the start up. I hear Jolene call her son from her cell phone to tell him to bring the salt over later because her back hurts too bad. However, she then adds 5 bags of salt and leaves ... this is on Friday, May 23, 2008. Later that day, Jolene's son brings more salt and put it into the pool. On Tuesday, May 27, 08 I called Anthony Sylvan first thing in the morning and said get out here ASAP there is a dirt ring all around the bottom of my pool and on the wet deck, seat and steps and all corners. It was bad. I them went to have my salt tested and found that it was DOUBLE what it should be and was told the pool now needed to be drained half way down again to start to fix just the salt problem. Anthony Sylvan told me that you can't trust the tests fromLeslie Pools. I asked where should I take a sample. I was told "we can't tell you where to take a sample, because then we might have liability for their results." You mean I can't trust anyone and you won't do it. WOW!!!
ANTHONY SYLVAN HAS TESTED THE WATER AND TOLD ME THAT LESLIE POOL CAN'T BE TRUSTED. I have been to 3 businesses to have my salt tested and all were the same. It is too high. I then bought my own salt test kit and each day I have tested the water and it is still way too high - DOUBLE. I received a letter last week from General Counsel at Anthony Sylvan Corporate telling me that the problems with my pool are all chemical related and that they are not responsisble.
If that isn't bad enough, I have a 4' crack down the side of my pool. One long straight line. I was told it's a plaster crack. NO IT ISN'T! I've had their plaster expert here and he even stated that it is not a plaster crack. It's in the plaster, but it's not a "normal" plaster crack. Their expert told me that my pool edges are like 80-grid sand paper. If you drag your feet or hands across the surface, they will bleed.
NOW WHAT... I got the run-a-round for over a year. I paid my $40,000 each time they asked for money they received it. Once they have their money they just don't care.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANTHONY SYLVAN POOL & spas. NOT IN HENDERSON, LAS VEGAS,FLORIDA OR ANY OTHER STATE THAT THEY ARE BUYING UP POOL COMPANIES TO HAVE A MONOPLY. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. READ ALL THE STORIES ON THE INTERNET. THEY ALL SOUND JUST LIKE MINE. WHEN I MENTIONED THAT TO ANTHONY SYLVAN THEY SIMPLY SAID, "It's real easy for our competition to put complaints on the NET unsigned." Well, mine is signed. You are welcome to come and see my pool. Better yet, take me with you when you go to negotiate a new pool to see how they treat former clients, once they have a problem with their pool. My Pool has been a problem since the first week it had water until now. They told me that I wouldn't even see the 4 foot long crack if the chemicals were right. It's the bad chemicals that are making it visible. If you have a 4 foot long straight line crack in your pool do you care if it is the chemicals that let you see it or devine intervention? Anthony Sylvan sure wasn't going to tell me about it. A final note: at the time J & J worked on my chemicals, they were the last ones to work on my chemicals they were sent here by Anthony Sylvan and paid for by Anthony Sylvan. Anthony Sylvan STILL is saying sorry for your problems, but we can't help you.
