On or around December 30, 2007 I made a reservation with American Airlines to go from Lax-Lihue on March 20, 2008. We had gotten bumped on a previous flight so we were using 3x$500 in certificates from the company and were instructed there was an additional fee of $578.70 which finalized the reservation. The total for the three of us came to $2078.70. The $578.70 was to go on my credit card and I gave the appropriate information to the agent. The agent directed me to mail the $1500 in flight documents to an address in Florida, which I did. I received confirmation from USPS that the documents were received by AA. Last week I called AA and inquired if my reservation was finalized. Agent said not quite but everything was in place and to call back on Friday, 2/15/08. I called and was told there was no record of my CC payment and the cost was now $1300 per ticket. They amazingly could not tell me the agent who handled the first reservation. After 2 hours on the phone to everyone at AA they finally let me have the tickets for $300 more than planned, with longer waits in routing.
